...Eden Espinosa and Alice Ripley will lend their voices to a June 13 concert that will feature songs from Helen of Troy, a new musical with a score by Brian Johnson (singer) of the Australian heavy metal band AC/DC.
Johnson's collaborators on the project include fellow musician, Brendan Healy, and the book writing team of Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais, screenwriters of the film The Commitments. The score is described as a mix of rock and roll, R&B and pop.
As the title amply suggests, the show takes as its inspiration from the classical tale of Helen, for whom a thousand Greek ships sailed to war against Troy.
His background notwithstanding, Johnson said in a statement, "I love musical theatre, especially the classic stuff, like Rodgers and Hammerstein."

...Since the news broke in mid-May that Wicked Wisdom, the group fronted by actress Jada Pinkett Smith, will play at this year's Ozzfest, little has been heard about the act or how it landed such a coveted gig. But whatever its music sounds like, it convinced tour organizer Sharon Osbourne to put the band on the bill.
"I wasn't sure what to expect when I went to see Wicked Wisdom play last April in a tiny [Los Angeles] club at midnight," Osbourne says. "But let me tell you, I was blown away. When you see and hear Jada with her band it's apparent that she has nothing but love and respect for this genre of music. ...Bob Geldof has put an end to a Spice Girls reunion at Live 8.
Bob says the girls will not perform at Live 8 because they are not popular enough reports IOL.com.
Mel B, Mel C, Geri, Emma and Victoria hoped to reform the band for the gig and perform together for the first time since 1998.
Geldof said: "I can't afford to have bands who won't pull the crowds. This is a political event, not a cultural one.
"If I get people who are currently selling 15 million albums, then there's an audience of at least 15 million people for the concert. It's a question of who is popular right now; that's the way it is.
"The whole thing with the Spice Girls isn't about my personal taste - my kids sing their stuff. But there just aren't enough people out there who would want to watch them."
